A Return to Virtue – Virtue Value Experience #1 by Vanessa

by admin on February 2, 2010

Here are Vanessa’s thoughts about the readings of Virtue Value Experience #1:

I feel as if there was any way to describe what happens to your spirit when you have a child and how you finally really know why being chaste is so important it would make such a huge difference. But I am not sure if there is any way to. You feel a little bit when you find out you are pregnant, you find out a little bit more when you see the ultrasound and you understand ALMOST fully when you have your first child. But it isn’t until you look over at your husband holding your little baby with love that you really understand why you decided to be virtuous and chase.

Also I love in the proclamation where it says everyone has an “eternal identity and purpose.”  I wonder how it changes when you choose to not be virtuous. What you miss out on that you could have had.

It also brings me comfort to know all of the horribly abused women and children in the church when they say, “Individuals who abuse spouse or offspring will one day stand accountable before God.” I cringe for them.

In the strength of youth packet when they talk about purity it goes over “Emotional Damage” and “Emotional Healing”.  I don’t think the youth really understand this until you have gone through it or watch a close friend or family member go through it. At the time it might seem “cool” or “living on the edge” or “just being part of the crowd” and some it might take YEARS before they finally realize the emotional damage and the very hard healing it takes to overcome being sexually impure.
